What is Sensory Integration Therapy?
We , at SenseAbility PTC focus on providing a comprehensive evaluation and customized intervention program to achieve goals set for your child. This is specifically designed to help children who have trouble processing or modulating incoming sensory information. Our sensory systems include our sense of touch (tactile), sense of balance (vestibular), sense of where our body and its parts are in space (proprioception), as well as smell, taste, vision and hearing. Sensory integration is the brain’s ability to take in information from all the senses, organize it, and respond to it accurately.
What are the benefits?
Our therapists use play based activities to stimulate and then improve a child’s nervous system and ( nervous system) its ability to respond in a more “organized” way to sensations and movement. A child’s interpretation and understanding of how their sensory systems interact with their environment and other people around them is a foundation for more complex learning and behavior skills which includes communication, attention, coordination, self-regulation, independence with daily living tasks, academic performance and social skills.
